Rare example of middle size “eglomisé” glass frame. 33cm * 41cm

End of XVIII- beginning of XIX century.

Lined by wood on back.

The technique consists in  painting of the rear face of glass with decorative designs in a combination of plain colour and gilding, usually to glass picture frames.

There is a small crack on glass  (see foto) and signes of aging due to fragility of adhesive layer, applied for fixing gold leaf.
